Here are some examples of volunteer projects within this program.

Floral Float Decorator - Volunteer Program
You can join in on the fun of putting real plants, dried materials and flowers on floral floats for any time in the 5 days before the August 25th Grand Floral Parade, or on days to suit you in earlier summer weeks. No experience is needed in working with flowers. School students from 13 years and up, and all adults are welcome (1000+ volunteers are needed).

Phone Program
You will call other volunteers and festival participants on behalf of all volunteer programs with times, dates of meetings, and more.  You can take part in office activities by answering phones, or by using your home phone.

Recycling Program
You can help keep Surrey clean while you take part in recycling the parade and festival goers' leftover papers, bottles, cans and more.  Participant volunteers can hand out recycling bags along the parade route.  You can join the end of the parade by picking up the parade goers' filled recycling bags and giving them to the recycling and garbage trucks that follow directly behind the last band and float entries.

Parade Volunteer Program
You will work with parade timing needs, and with media such as television, in helping to make sure parade participants are moving on time to match pre-planned production and direction operations.  Phones, walkie talkies and ham radio operators will be used to team up leaders coordinating with the Parade Head.  You are invited to do other parade activities to help present a quality parade as well.

Volunteers, please apply by phone, letter or fax
to the below listed numbers, not by Email.
